I did listen to several past archives on Diane's show. Seems like a nice woman but she is hardly balanced. Her guest that spoke of HR 3200 were all one side of the aisle. At least Bill O'Reilly will have guest on that are from both sides and debate the subject:
Diane's guests:
Karen Tumulty, National Political Correspondent, "Time" magazine.
Julie Rovner, health policy correspondent for National Public Radio, author of "Health Care Policy and Politics A-Z," and contributing editor for National Journal's CongressDaily.
Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, (D-California) Co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Congressman Earl Pomeroy, (D-North Dakota) Member of the House Ways & Means Health Subcommittee, he is involved in the Democratic "Blue Dog" health care efforts.

"Apportionment" of population, as determined by the census each 10 years, across house seats is what determines the representation across the country. It gets a little skewed because some smaller states have more people than an "average" larger state per house district, but not enough to justify a second house seat. Wyoming has about 150,000 less people in their one district compared to the average New York district. And it's a zero sum game, in that as population density shifts then some states will lose a seat and that is picked up by a faster growing state.
The Senate balances this out of course. California's 34,000,000 people have two Senators and North Dakota's 644,000 people have two Senators. That's more than enough compensation for non-urban areas. I think that there's no need to change a thing.

Wow!, I'm really surprised my pictures are garnering so much attention...thank you for all the nice compliments. Although, I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I thought at least one person would check out the song I posted and get a laugh out of it. I found it quite funny myself.

Obama Closes Offices in 4 States... McCain Opens 50 in California!
Well, so much for that 50 state strategy.
The Obama camp surrendered 4 states to McCain-Palin today.
And, you know what that means?
It's time to play the racism card!
Andrew Malcolm at the Top of the Ticket ties this decision by the Obama Campaign to close election offices in North Dakota, Alaska, Idaho and Georgia to a poll on Democratic racism that was released this weekend:
Exactly 44 years after Lyndon B. Johnson became the last Democrat to capture the state of North Dakota in a presidential election, it looks like Barack Obama won't be the next.
The Associated Press reported this evening and an Obama spokeswoman confirmed that the Chicago-based campaign is pulling its 50-some staffers out of the heavily Republican state full of embittered small towns and shipping the workers east to Minnesota and Wisconsin, where the Democrat's prospects seem brighter and closer.
John Kerry did the best of recent Democrats there, getting 36% of the North Dakota vote in 2004 -- 3 percentage points more than Al Gore in 2000.
The abandonment of at least one Midwestern state by Obama comes as a new AP poll indicates that race could play a significant role in deciding a close national election.
